The best travel route for Moalboal, Camiguin, and Siargao is to go:
- Moalboal
- Camiguin
- Siargao
Hereβs how!
π¬ Getting to Moalboal (Cebu)
βοΈ Flight to Cebu City
π Taxi to South Bus Terminal | 30 – 45 minutes
π Bus to Moalboal | 2 – 3 hours
Notes:
- You don’t need to book a bus ahead. They don’t really have a schedule, but there’s one leaving roughly every 30 minutes.

β‘οΈ Moalboal to Camiguin
By plane
π Bus to Cebu City | 2 – 3 hours
π Taxi to Cebu Airport | 30 – 45 minutes
βοΈ Flight to Camiguin | 1 hour | (Cebu Pacific)
Notes:
- This is by far the best way to get to Camiguin from Moalboal. Most other routes (except the one below) are either unreliable, highly time-sensitive, or unnecessarily long and not exactly cheaper.
via Bohol
π Bus to Cebu City | 2 – 3 hours
π Taxi to Pier 1 | 15 minutes
π₯οΈ Ferry to Tagbilaran, Bohol | 2 hours | (book online)
πΊ Tricycle to Dao Terminal | 15 minutes
π Bus or van to Jagna | 1.5 hours
π₯οΈ Ferry to Mambajao, Camiguin | 4 hours | (book online)
Notes:
- This route is cheaper, but I don’t recommend it to inexperienced travelers. It takes a lot more time, and there are a lot of different rides you need to take.
- There’s another route from Moalboal to Bohol via Oslob. However, I don’t recommend this route since the current timetables for Oslob – Bohol and Bohol – Camiguin mean you won’t make it to the Camiguin ferry without spending a night in Bohol.
- There’s only one ferry from Jagna, Bohol to Mambajao, Camiguin. It’s run by Super Shuttle and currently leaves every day at 2:30 pm. You can check here for updated schedules and to book online.

β‘οΈ Camiguin to Siargao
Via Cebu
βοΈ Flight to Cebu City | 1 hour | (Cebu Pacific)
βοΈ Flight to Sayak Airport, Siargao | 1 hour | (Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines)
π Van to General Luna | 45 minutes | (book online)
Notes:
- This is the fastest and easiest route, but it can also be quite expensive because of the double flights.
- General Luna, the main tourist town of Siargao, is 45 minutes away from the airport. There are shared vans waiting to bring you there, or you can book ahead here.
Via Surigao
πΊ Tricycle to Benoni Port | 30 minutes
π₯οΈ Ferry to Balingoan Port | 1 hour
π Bus or van to Butuan City | 2.5 hours
π Bus or van to Surigao City | 3 hours
πΊ Tricycle to Surigao Port | 15 minutes
π₯οΈ Ferry to Dapa Port, Siargao | 1.5 hours | (book online)
πΊ Tricycle or van to General Luna | 25 minutes
Notes:
- This route is significantly longer and more difficult for inexperienced travelers. However, it is also cheaper than taking 2 flights to get to Siargao.
- If you’re going this route, I don’t recommend booking anything ahead since your arrival time will depend greatly on if there are any delays on the road. Plus, there are a lot of buses and ferries doing these routes, so you shouldn’t have too many problems just showing up and buying a ticket.

- Both companies leave every day except Sunday. Starlite at 9 am and Cokaliong at 7 pm. Schedules are subject to change, but you can see updated schedules and book online here.
- There are multiple ferries plying the Dapa to Surigao route. Most tourists ride the Evaristo and Sons fast craft, which leaves 3x a day. Check the schedules and book a ticket online here.
