Let me guess.

You’re in Siquijor, and you’re craving the cool, refreshing water of a waterfall.

But Cambugahay, Siquijor’s most famous falls?

It’s too crowded.

You’re longing for the quiet of nature.

You want to lie on your back in the water, drifting.

Looking up at a canopy of sunlit leaves.

Well, guess what?

Siquijor is full of quieter, less famous falls.

And yes, they are just as beautiful as Cambugahay!

Take Lagaan Falls, for example.

Lagaan is fun, filled with beauty, and super peaceful.

Interested in visiting it?

Let’s go!

Lagaan Falls Fun Facts: 3 Things You Should Know Before Visiting

First, fun time!

Make sure you know some facts about the falls before visiting it.

Lagaan Falls Fun Fact #1: The Falls Has 2 Levels, Each of Them Great Fun

Like Cambugahay Falls, Lagaan Falls has more than one level.

It has two!

The top level is the deeper part, where you can swim and plunge into the pool on a Tarzan swing.

If you follow the water downward, a short hike will take you to the second level.

This part is shallower, composed of rock pools you can swim in.

Both levels are great fun, so make sure not to miss either one when you visit!

Lagaan Falls Fun Fact #2: Its Waters Are a Deep Turquoise Color

If you’ve looked at photos of Lagaan and thought,

“Eh, those are probably edited.”

Think again!

Or don’t think.

Instead, head over to Lagaan Falls.

See for yourself!

The waters that tumble from the falls into the rock pools below are a beautiful, shining turquoise.

So take those photos, and be assured you don’t need to be a color-grading whiz to come up with stunning shots.

Lagaan Falls Fun Fact #3: It’s Fun for Everyone

Just like Cambugahay, Lagaan Falls isn’t super tall or powerful.

It’s not the type of falls that generates power, like Maria Christina in Iligan.

Instead, it’s a short, wide, gentle waterfall.

Meaning…it’s a fun getaway for the whole family.

Kids, grandparents, pets – all are welcome at this gorgeous, peaceful swimming hole.

5 Fun Things to Do in Lagaan Falls

Each waterfall is unique, and Lagaan is no different.

When you visit, don’t miss out on these 4 fun activities.

Lagaan Falls Fun Activity #1: Swim!

Of course!

Why else would you visit a waterfall?

And if you’re in Lagaan to enjoy a cooling swim, you’re in for a real treat.

The water is cold, and you can take a refreshing plunge to relieve yourself of Siquijor’s sweltering weather.

There are deep parts in the swimming hole below the falls, perfect if you want to lie on the water and let it carry you.

If you simply want to sit in the shallows and relax?

You can do that too.

Siquijor’s Laagaan Falls is perfect for swimmers and non-swimmers alike.

It’s perfect for anyone looking for a cold swim after a long, sweaty day.

Lagaan Falls Fun Activity #2: Try the Rock Slide

Ok, that photo is of me UNDER the rock slide.

Right after I zipped down it, straight into the refreshing waters of Lagaan.

See how the rock goes down towards the water at an angle?

You can climb to the top, sit at the ledge, and whoosh!

Push yourself down just like you would on any old slide.

You’ll enjoy a moment of rushing through the sunlit air, and then you’ll feel yourself catapulted into the cool water.

It’s super fun!

Once I’d tried it, I went back again and again for another round.

It’s addictive!

Lagaan Falls Fun Activity #3: Climb through the Mini Cave

At the base of Lagaan Falls is a secret doorway that leads to a large crevice in the rock.

Yes, a cave!

It’s narrow, but big enough to fit 2-3 people at one time.

At the edge, there are hand and footholds that allow you to climb right through…

…and out into the falls.

If you want, you can jump!

You’ll go right into the water, where you can go inside the cave again for another climb and jump.

It’s an activity anyone can enjoy, as the jump is short and the climb easy, even for kids.

Lagaan Falls Fun Activity #4: “Cliff” Jumping

Who doesn’t love the adrenaline of a cliff jump?

“Lots of people,” you might say.

And (haha) this is true.

Sometimes cliff jumps are scary.

Especially if they’re really high, and you look down and see the water so far below.

Don’t worry, though.

Lagaan’s cliff jump is short and easy.

All you need to do is climb up the rocks beside the falls.

It’s not hard – even kids can do it.

Then, jump!

It’s only a few meters down, but you can still feel the rush and excitement of the plunge.

The water will envelop you in green darkness, and you surface laughing, kicking, and ready to do it again.

Lagaan Falls Fun Activity #5: Tarzan Swings

Splash!

That’s me right there, after swinging on the Tarzan Swing.

See the rope I used to do this?

These are fun!

You climb up onto a wooden ledge.

Attached to it is a “Tarzan Swing,” which means a rope that dangles over the swimming hole.

You grab the handle attached to the rope, bend your knees, and swing!

Here’s my brother at it when he visited back in 2022:

When you’re right over the center of the swimming hole, let go and drop with a splash into the cold water.

It’s an epic adventure, one that you’ll remember forever (especially if water gets into your nose, ha).

Where Is Lagaan Falls Located?

Lagaan Falls is located in Lazi Town, which is 20-30 minutes from San Juan.

If you’re in Cambugahay, or have been there, it’s really close to those falls!

It’s also close to the Enchanted Balete Tree, so if you’re planning a visit there, you can add Lagaan as an after-tour swim.

How to Get to Lagaan Falls (The Easiest Way)

The easiest way to get to Lagaan Falls is by motorcycle.

In Siquijor, there are motorcycles for rent practically everywhere.

They will cost you roughly 350 per day.

Not confident driving yourself around?

You can always hire a tricycle (motorcycle taxi) from San Juan town.

Depending on your bargaining skills, a one-way trip will cost PHP150- 200.

Tell the driver to take you to Lagaan Falls.

For the right deal, they will even wait for you as you swim, then drive you back to your hotel after.

When you get to the registration area, a guide will take you down to the falls.

It’s a short hike (around 15 minutes), and the surroundings are beautiful and peaceful.

Think: a dense forest, birdsong, and a patchwork of sunlight and shadows.

After the quick hike, voila!

You’re at the falls.

Trust me: the exercise will make your mouth water for the cooling waters of Lagaan.

How Much Will You Spend at Lagaan Falls?

Good news, budget-friendly people!

Lagaan Falls makes for a super affordable adventure.

Entrance is only PHP50 per person, and that includes unlimited Tarzan Swing jumps.

As for the guide, you can decide how much “tip” to give.

I suggest around PHP200, as the guides there are super accommodating, even getting on the swings to take “human drone” pictures of you!

Best Time to Visit Lagaan Falls (Hint: It Depends on You!)

Lagaan Falls is open from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

If you’re a morning person, 6:30 is the perfect time to visit.

Imagine how lovely it would be to swim in the first light of morning.

But if you’re a night owl, or a person who loves sleeping in?

Don’t worry!

Like I said, Lagaan Falls is the alternative to the noisier, more crowded Cambugahay Falls.

When we visited it at around 3 PM, it was completely deserted.

We had the whole waterfall to ourselves!

So YES.

You can visit Lagaan Falls at any time of the day.

It’s peaceful and quiet there.

The trees arch like a canopy over water, so it never really gets hot.

The silence is only broken by the call of birds and the splash of the water as if it falls from the ledge into the pool.

You can even stay until almost sunset and watch the light fade from lemon to honey.

Lagaan is the perfect place to relax, unwind, and immerse yourself in the soft, healing beauty of nature…any time you feel you want to visit!

Lagaan Falls: The Alternative to Cambugahay’s Crowds

If you’re in Siquijor, DO NOT miss the waterfalls.

They’re a main part of the adventure – cold waters, rope jumps, mini caves, the works!

But if you’re an introvert and dislike the yells and chatter of crowds and strangers.

Lagaan is the place to go.

It’s not as well-known as Cambugahay.

It’s not the go-to for most tourists who are only in Siquijor for a weekend.

But you know what?

It’s just as fun and beautiful.

It has the same turquoise waters, the Tarzan Swings, and the beautiful canopy of trees.

So go on!

Visit it instead of Cambugahay.

Or visit them both!

I did, and I loved both of the waterfalls equally.
