Boracay is a chill destination.
It’s the type of place where even if you barely leave your hotel, you can still enjoy the FULL Boracay experience.
That said if you want something more than just White Beach – or if you’re curious to explore this small, but immensely beautiful island – then here are 9 Boracay tourist spots that you can check out!
And the best part?
Since Boracay is a small island, you can EASILY see ALL of these. Even if you’re on a short stay!
Exciting?
Let’s dive in!
9 of the Best Tourist Spots in Boracay (Things to See & Try!)
Here are my top 9 tourist spots in Boracay:
- White Beach (duh)
- D’Mall
- Bulabog Beach
- Ilig-Ilagan Beach
- Cujo’s Keyhole (Gateway Arch)
- Puka Beach
- The Sunset (Parawsailing)
- The Sky (Parasailing)
- The Sea (Water Activities)
Now, you might be wondering:
Why the heck are the sunset, the sky, and the sea part of that list?
Well, I’ll explain when we get there.
But first:
Best Boracay Tourist Spots #1: White Beach
If you haven’t been to White Beach, have you really been to Boracay at all???
This 4km stretch of fine white sand, turquoise waters, and almost-perfectly lined up coconut trees is what makes Boracay Boracay.
Lonely Planet even ranks this as the best beach in the ENTIRE country.
It is this beach that draws flocks of tourists all year round. And for good reason!
There are 3 things that really make White Beach stand out from any other beach in the Philippines (because we all know that this country is PACKED with awesome beaches).
- It’s super clean
- The sand is EXTREMELEY fine, and stretches on and on into the sea
- There’s everything you need right behind the line of coconuts trees
Look at that image above.
Do you see any fishing ships?
Do you see any seaweeds?
Do you see any trash?
Nope!
The sand goes on and on and on as far as you can see.
It’s clean and pristine, thanks to the strict monitoring by the local government.
Another thing I love about White Beach is that the sand is not only super fine, but it stretches far into the sea.
Don’t you hate it when you take 2-3 steps into the water, and your feet are immediately met by a rock, a coral, or a seaweed?
Well, there’s none of that in Boracay!
The White Sand stretched farther than I could reach and beyond!
I know we have a lot of awesome beaches in Philippines, but as far as sand goes, Boracay is probably the best of the best.
And finally, the third reason White Beach is special is because it has EVERYTHING you need.
Right behind the line of coconut trees are hotels, restaurants, shops, and everything in between.
In some hotels, the moment you step out your door, you’re already in White Beach.
How cool is that?
As for shops, this brings us to:
Best Boracay Tourist Spots #2: D’Mall
Most beautiful beaches come with one or two inconveniences.
Being isolated, no food nearby, no ATMs nearby, no pharmacies, no convenience stores, etc. etc. etc.
Well, one of the best things about Boracay and White Beach is D’Mall – the solution to ALL your potential inconveniences.
Found in station 2, right on the middle of White Beach, this open air plaza is the ultimate shopping center for beach goers.
From restaurants, to coffee shops, to dive shops, to pharmacies, to convenience stores, and even to a little basketball arcade:
After a day of swimming around or exploring, coming to D’Mall for dinner is definitely a must.
You get a LOT of choices here too.
Want Italian food? They’ve got it.
Want burgers? You bet!
Want rice bowls? Pfff, of course!
Now, I will say that D’Mall can get pretty crowded. Especially during dinnertime.
But once again, it’s one of those things…
If you haven’t been to D’Mall, have you really been to Boracay at all?
Best Boracay Tourist Spots #3: Bulabog Beach
If you’ve been to White Beach and D’Mall, congrats!
Those are the two main things that make Boracay Boracay.
But if you want more, then why don’t you explore?
One of the easiest places to go and check out is Bulabog Beach.
Located on the East side of the island (Opposite to White Beach, but still within walking distance), the first thing you’ll notice here are the STRONG winds.
These winds make Bulabog perfect for all kinds of extreme sports, such as kite surfing!
Unfortunately, these types of sports are not for everyone. If you’re interested, there is a kitesurfing school in Bulabog that you can sign up for.
But if you’re just on a casual trip, just seeing these guys do crazy flips mid-air is quite exciting!
Bulabog is also where you’ll find this famous curved coconut tree.
The funny thing is, a LOT of people come to Bulabog to get a picture with this tree, there is literally a queue for it (they gave us numbers!).
Best Boracay Tourist Spots #4: Ilig-Ilagan Beach
One problem with White Beach is that it gets crowded.
VERY crowded.
So if you’re someone who enjoys peace and quiet, you might want to visit Ilig-Ilagan Beach instead.
Ilig-Ilagan is located on the Northeastern side of the island. And just like Bulabog, it gets VERY windy here.
Unlike Bulabog though, walking here from White Beach isn’t easy.
Sure, there are several hotels nearby – so if you’re staying in one of those, you can easily come here by foot.
However, if you’re staying in the main area, you’ll probably need to get on one of Boracay’s electric tricycles and ask the driver to bring you here!
What’s there to enjoy here?
Well, aside from the peace and quiet, there’s also this windy walkway…
… Which will take you straight to our next spot!
Best Boracay Tourist Spots #5: Cujo’s Keyhole (Boracay Gateway Arch)
Cujo’s Keyhole, also known as Boracay’s Gateway Arch, is a picturesque stone arch found on the tip of Ilig-Ilagan beach.
Not only is this spot a great place to get a photo with your family and/or friends, but it’s also a nice place to relax a bit.
Again, the wind here is strong.
And the waves are pretty big too! Watching them crash into the rocks will fill you with a sense of how awesome and powerful nature can be (something that you won’t feel in White Beach).
Again, walking here from White Beach is tough.
But most tours of Boracay will include this spot, since the arch is quite iconic.
Best Boracay Tourist Spots #6: Puka Beach
Another beach with its own unique flavor is Puka Beach.
Found in the northernmost tip of Boracay, the sand here isn’t as fine as in White Beach.
In fact, the name “Puka” comes from the Puka shells that are found in this beach.
But the sea here is just as beautiful. And the sunsets are absolutely gorgeous.
I found this to be one of the best places to watch the Boracay sunset.
What else makes Puka unique?
Well, it’s not ultra-convenient like White Beach.
It’s not for extreme sports like Bulabog.
And it isn’t exactly as calm as Ilig-Ilagan.
What makes Puka unique is that it feels like the closest to nature of the four.
Sure, there are a few stalls nearby, stacked stones, a volleyball net, a big Boracay sandcastle, and even several manmade signs that say “Puka”.
But when you look behind you, you won’t see a row of buildings anywhere. Instead, you’ll just see a steep limestone wall, with nature all around.
Some say you can even see wild flying foxes (a type of bat) here.
Best Boracay Tourist Spots #7: The Sunset (Parawsailing)
Okay, now let’s get to the “strange” ones.
The thing is, Boracay is a small island.
As such, it doesn’t have a lot of tourist “spots” per se.
However, what it does have are several unique ways to enjoy the island. One of which is Parawsailing into the sunset.
Boracay sunsets are on another level.
And perhaps the BEST place to experience it is out on the sea!
Every afternoon, dozens of Paraw sailboats leave the dock at Station 1 and sail into the sunset.
So while you can enjoy the sunset almost anywhere (especially Diniwid and Puka beach), you might not want to miss out on this one!
Best Boracay Tourist Spots #8: The Sky (Parasailing)
Another thrilling way to experience Boracay is to go parasailing.
Get on a boat, strap yourself on a parachute, and let the wind carry you away!
Now, this isn’t something for the faint of heart. If you’re afraid of heights, you might be better staying on land because the parachute will take you high, HIGH into the sky.
Up there you’ll get an amazing view of Boracay, as well as the windmills on mainland Aklan.
You can also play my favorite game while you’re up there – trying to find your hotel!
The parasailing boats are found in an off-shore dock, but you can book the experience almost anywhere in White Beach. They’ll be the ones to handle everything from there, from bringing you to the launch area to bringing you back to Station 1 or 3.
Aside from parasailing, another way you can experience the sky is to go on a helicopter tour.
I didn’t get to try this, but it sure does sound exciting!
Best Boracay Tourist Spots #9: The Sea (Water Activities)
Last but not least, the water activities!
Aside from Parawsailing and parasailing, there are a bunch of fun water activities you can go for.
These include thrills like:
- Banana boat
- UFO
- Jet skis
Chill activities like:
- Paddle boarding
- Kayaking
Or even exploring underwater:
- Helmet diving
- Scuba diving
- Free diving
You can also visit the nearby islands by going on an island hopping tour.
Pretty much any water activity that you can think of, Boracay has it.
You can enjoy most of these activities just along White Beach, while others (like scuba diving and freediving) are a little bit further away from the island.
So Which Boracay Tourist Spots Are You Going to Check Out?
And that’s it!
Those are my 9 favorite Boracay tourist spots.
So what are you going to check out?
Are you going to have a chill vacation along White Beach?
Maybe you’re bringing the family, and want to try some water activities?
Or maybe even you’re an adrenaline junkie, and you want to have a go at kitesurfing in Bulabog?
Whatever the case, there’s something for everyone in Boracay.
That’s why it is easily one of the very best tourist spots in the WORLD.
